That's why the university is inviting those students back for this spring's in-person ceremony. The past two commencement ceremonies for spring and fall 2020 graduates have been virtual. There will be multiple ceremonies so times are yet to be determined while university staff gauge interest, said UWF spokeswoman Megan Gonzalez. The university usually holds its event at the Pensacola Bay Center, but decided to move it outdoors this year to the Blue Wahoos Stadium to keep attendees safer. This ensemble performs at all home and away football games, pep rallies, marching competitions (FBA) and several local parades. Rehearsal dates are posted on the Band App and can be found in the current Band Handbook. In order to maintain this prestigious high standard, marching band members follow a strict rehearsal and performance schedule each summer and fall.


This ensemble is competitive on local and state levels. Students must be enrolled in marching band in order to participate in winter guard, jazz band, concert band, symphonic band or indoor percussion. Students must also remain enrolled in a band, percussion or color guard class during the entire school year to maintain their membership in this ensemble. Within the Gulf Breeze High Band Program, membership in the marching band is a required portion of our overall music curriculum. This includes all wind instruments, percussion and color guard members. With around 100 members, the marching band is the most active and visible part of the Gulf Breeze High School Band program.
